giANTs

giANTs presents a series of selected monumental sculptures from the portfolio of planetBLU  forged from industrial machinery decommissioned after fifteen years of processing millions of tons of waste for the metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. Having operated a waste management facility handling 2,000 tons daily for nearly two decades, Viet Ngo turns his artistic lens toward these "retired" mechanical carcasses. Guided by a profound material empathy, his practice involves intuitive interventions on machinery bodies that bear the traces of long, grueling terms of heavy labor. Through this synthesis of sculpture, mechanics, raw material, and human interaction, the works interrogate the precarious nexus of labor, consumerism, and environmental futures.

giANTs unveils a post-waste, post-iron, and post-machine realm. Here, the discarded machine bodies transcend their status as scrap, re-emerging as material witnesses and discursive agents that compel viewer contemplation.

The body of work unfolds across three distinct series: GIANTs, scale-defying works standing up to 10 meters in height;  ANTs, intimate sculptures under three meters. Dimensions, sculptural iterations created from post-consumer plastic waste.
