A continuation of the dualistic practice bridging art and enterprise.
"TITANs" is the latest series of works by Viet Ngo embodying this dual nature launched following the commencement of the Vietstar waste-to-energy plant in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City, in March 2025. The series employs the practice of appropriating "found objects", an extension of the "readymade" movement where the objects in question are actual components from the very waste-to-energy projects invested in by his own company, Vietstar JSC. It features a twin-tower structure, two flue-gas treatment towers rising 65 meters piercing a sky that shifts between vibrant blue, gloomy gray, and billowing clouds. It includes a deep pit facilitating ecological treatment processes, with a volume exceeding 40,000 cubic meters, serving the critical function of preventing geological shifting. It encompasses secret mountain-like ranges draped in impermeable liners over 40 meters high and stretching for kilometers where humans and machinery are rendered tiny and insignificant against such vastness. And it comprises massive steel structures weighing hundreds of tons designed to support one another and towering high against the sky.
