On the morning of March 5, 2025, VietStar Joint Stock Company officially broke ground on the VietStar Waste-to-Energy Plant project at the Northwest Solid Waste Management Complex in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. With a total investment of 3.5 trillion VND, the plant features a processing capacity of 2,000 tons of municipal waste per day, utilizing advanced German technological lines to convert waste into energy. Following more than a decade of preparation, VietStar General Director Ngo Nhu Hung Viet committed to mobilizing maximum resources to complete the project in the shortest possible timeframe. This marks the second waste-to-energy facility to begin construction in Ho Chi Minh City (following the Tam Sinh Nghia project), playing a pivotal role in the city’s strategy to reduce landfilling, safeguard the environment, and secure urban energy provision. Ho Chi Minh City leadership highlighted the critical importance of the project and urged the investor to accelerate construction to bring the plant into operation promptly.
